Small water droplets or moisture may appear on the outer surface of the bottle. This is known as terracotta sweating and is a normal characteristic of pure, unglazed clay. It occurs because of the material’s natural porosity and should not be mistaken for leakage. We recommend placing the bottle on a coaster or tray to protect delicate surfaces.
Handmade Character
Each bottle is shaped and finished by hand. Minor variations in colour, surface texture, shape, size and stopper fit are expected. Natural firing marks, fine lines and subtle tonal differences are part of the product’s handmade identity and make every piece unique.
The terracotta stopper is handmade and is intended to rest over the opening. It is not airtight or leak-proof. The bottle should therefore be kept upright and is best suited for use at home, in the office or as a tabletop water bottle.
Before First Use
- Rinse the bottle thoroughly with clean water.
- Fill it with water and allow it to rest for a few hours.
- Discard the first one or two fills if you notice a natural earthy aroma.
- Refill with fresh drinking water and enjoy.
Care Instructions
- Wash by hand using clean water and a soft bottle brush.
- A small amount of baking soda may be used for occasional deep cleaning.
- Avoid detergents, bleach, harsh chemicals and strongly scented cleaning liquids.
- Allow the bottle and stopper to dry completely before storing.
- Do not keep water inside for extended periods without changing it.
- Do not place in a dishwasher, microwave, oven or freezer.
- Avoid sudden temperature changes, as natural clay may crack from thermal shock.
- Handle carefully, as terracotta is naturally fragile.
