About Terracotta

What is special about terracotta?

Terracotta is a natural clay material that is porous and breathable. It helps cool water naturally and offers an earthy, traditional drinking experience. Since every piece is handmade, slight variations in texture, shape, or tone are normal and part of its charm.

Does terracotta really cool water?

Yes. Terracotta cools water through natural evaporation from the outer surface. The cooling effect depends on room temperature, airflow, and humidity. In warmer weather, the effect is usually better indoors with ventilation.

Is it safe to drink from terracotta?

Yes, when used and cared for correctly. Our terracotta drinkware is designed for everyday use. As with all natural clay products, proper cleaning and basic care help ensure the best experience.

Will the bottle or matka sweat on the outside?

Yes, that is normal. Because terracotta is porous, you may notice moisture droplets on the outside as the water cools. We recommend placing it on a tray or coaster, especially on wood surfaces.

Will it leak?

A little seepage can sometimes happen with handmade terracotta, especially before proper seasoning or if the item is left filled for very long periods. After proper preparation and normal use, most pieces perform well. If you notice abnormal leaking, please contact us with clear photos.

Does terracotta change the taste of water?

On the first few uses, you may notice a mild earthy note. That is natural. After proper cleaning and regular use, the taste usually becomes clean and pleasant.

Care & Seasoning

Do I need to season terracotta before use?

For cookware, seasoning is recommended before first use. This helps prepare the clay, improve performance, and extend the life of the piece.

How do I season a terracotta cooking pot?

Apply a thin layer of cooking oil to the inner surface and lid, then allow it to absorb for a few hours before use. Follow the seasoning instructions provided with your product for best results.

How do I clean terracotta products?

Wash gently with water. Use mild soap only if required. Avoid harsh scrubbers and strong chemicals. Allow the product to dry completely before storing.

Are slight marks or variations normal?

Yes. Slight variations in color, texture, glaze, and form are natural in handmade products and are not considered defects. They are part of the authenticity of each piece.

Shipping & Delivery

Do you deliver across the UAE?

Yes, we deliver across all Emirates in the UAE.

How much is delivery?

Orders above AED 100 qualify for free standard delivery across the UAE. Orders below AED 100 are charged a flat AED 15 delivery fee.

How long does delivery take?

Standard delivery usually takes 2–4 working days from order confirmation. 

When are orders processed?

Orders placed before 2 PM UAE time are usually processed on the same day. Orders placed after 2 PM, on weekends, or on public holidays are processed on the next working day.

What if my area is remote or not serviceable?

If your location falls under a remote or non-serviceable area, our team will contact you to arrange an alternate delivery option or pickup solution.

Payments

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and selected local payment gateways.

Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available?

Yes, Cash on Delivery (COD) is available across the UAE on eligible orders. If COD is available for your order, you will see it as a payment option at checkout.

Returns, Damage & Replacements

Can I return a product?

Due to the handmade and fragile nature of our products, we only accept replacement for damaged or incorrect items. We do not accept returns for change of mind, minor natural marks, or slight handmade variations.

What should I do if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?

Please contact us as soon as possible with your order number, clear photos of the item, and photos of the outer packaging. Our team will review the issue and assist you with the next steps.

Do you replace damaged items for free?

Yes. If your item arrives damaged and the claim is verified, we will arrange a replacement of the same item at no additional cost.

Are handmade variations considered defects?

No. Minor variations in color, texture, shape, glaze, or finish are a normal part of handmade craftsmanship and are not treated as defects.
