The Natural Cooling Effect of Terracotta

Terracotta is naturally porous. Tiny pores in the clay allow a small amount of water to gradually reach the outer surface and evaporate. This natural evaporation can help the water inside remain pleasantly cool without refrigeration.

Because of this process, you may occasionally notice moisture, condensation or “sweating” on the outside of the bottle. This is completely natural and is one of the characteristics of genuine unglazed terracotta.

We recommend placing the bottle on a coaster, tray or water-resistant surface, particularly during the first few uses.

Important Lid Information

The terracotta lid is designed to rest over the bottle opening. As a handmade clay component, it is not an airtight, leak-proof or screw-fitting closure. The bottle should therefore be stored and carried upright.

Handmade Means Unique

Every bottle is shaped, finished and painted individually by hand. Variations in colour, painting, brushwork, dimensions, clay tone, surface texture and firing marks are natural characteristics of handmade terracotta.

The hand-painted pattern and colour placement may therefore vary slightly from the photographs. These differences are part of what makes every Terra Aseel piece unique.

Care Instructions

• Fill with clean drinking water and allow the clay to acclimatise before regular use

• Avoid harsh detergents and abrasive scrubbers
