💧 About Terracotta Sweating
Traditional unglazed terracotta may naturally develop moisture or droplets on its exterior as water passes through the microscopic pores of the clay. This Terra EarthCore bottle is glazed on the inside, which significantly reduces this natural sweating compared with fully unglazed terracotta bottles. Because every bottle is handmade, minor variation in moisture behaviour may still occur from piece to piece.
Care & usage
- Before first use, rinse the bottle thoroughly with clean water
- For general terracotta preparation and care, refer to our Seasoning Instructions
- As the interior of this bottle is glazed, extensive seasoning associated with completely unglazed cookware is generally not required
- Hand wash using water and a soft sponge
- Avoid abrasive scrubbers or harsh cleaning chemicals
- Allow the bottle to dry completely before storing
- Avoid sudden temperature changes as handmade terracotta can be sensitive to thermal shock
Note: Each Terra EarthCore bottle is individually handmade. Natural variations in clay shade, texture, dimensions, surface markings and finish are characteristics of artisan-made terracotta and are not considered defects. The textured pattern may also differ slightly between pieces.
